UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS - MEDICAL BRANCH
University of Texas Medical Branch is an 85 acre campus of healthcare and educational facilities. With over 4.7 million square feet of assignable space, it is a complex environment requiring a lot of signage and wayfinding.

In fall of 2001,  rebranding effort was launched, with the use of a new logo and logotype. The first and most complex aspect of the effort was signage. With building-mounted identity signs that ranged from 2 to 25 feet wide, extensive survey work and required before any design work could begin.

The objectives were clear; to contain costs, retain existing signage whenever possible, develop a sign system that would adapt to the various locations, employ a new color scheme without having to replace every sign and complete this all by September 2012.
