Tanner Health
Northwest,
GA
Situation
Tanner Health is Northwest
Georgia's premiere healthcare provider with
campus locations in Carrollton, Villa Rica
and Bremen, GA. They employ more than 2,000,
deliver 1,400 babies each year and perform
over 6,000 surgical procedures.
Having served the region for over 50 years,
Tanner Health is now growing to meet the
needs of the area's increasing population.
As part of their expansion, Tanner Health
recently opened their newly constructed
Heart and Vascular Center and adjacent parking
structure located on their Carrollton, GA
campus.
With image and innovation driving their
new construction projects, Tanner Health
selected INNERFACE Architectural Signage
as their partner for all signage and wayfinding
design, fabrication and installation.
Because the Carrollton campus is just one
spoke in Tanner's hub of care, it was critical
to maintain the integrity of the Tanner
brand through:
- Use of new corporate color pallet
- Prominent logo placement
- Consistent messaging
- Flexible design elements to be used in
multiple applications throughout the Tanner
System
- Creative use of materials to match facility
architecture and interior finishes
Solutions -
Exterior
With its striking and modern architecture,
the new Heart and Vascular Center is located
near the center of Carrollton, GA. This
high-visibility location makes it a great
place to capitalize on reinforcing the Tanner
Health brand.
A requirement for the exterior signage and
wayfinding program was establishing a system
that is versatile enough to be used in multiple
applications and retain its brand qualities
when modified. Prominent use of the Tanner
corporate color pallet is instrumental in
tying satellite locations back to the main
campus. Our environmental graphic design
team conducted a traffic flow and distance
visibility analysis to locate signs for
optimal impact and visibility. All exterior
ground signs are internally illuminated.
Solutions -
Interior
Consisting of more than 300 interior
sign locations on 5 floors, the wayfinding
system is extensive. Our design team ensured
continuity by closely tying together the
interior and exterior wayfinding elements
and verifying consistent messaging.
In order to maximize client value and meet
budget requirements, our designers created
a two-tier signage design. The higher tier
of the signage package is designed for use
in areas frequently accessed by the public
and incorporates additional design elements.
The second tier signage is designed for
use in areas accessed mostly by staff and
uses a complementary but simpler design.
To help ensure the long-term effectiveness
of the wayfinding system, both the front
and back of house signage designs are modular
making them simple and cost effective to
update.
As part of the scope of the project, our
design team was asked to design enclosures
for dynamic electronic class and conference
room signage. Our enclosure design ties
directly to the other signage and wayfinding
components and incorporates raised characters
and Braille translations for ADA compliance.
Success
With phase one now complete, we
are working with Tanner Health to implement
the new interior and exterior signage designs
across their other campus and satellite
locations.
Through the use of a variety of materials,
INNERFACE and Tanner Were able to enhance
branding and visibility while creating a
more user friendly campus environment.
